ZOFFANY AFTERCARE ADVICE

ELITE EMULSION

Cleaning: For light soiling on smooth surfaces use a diluted lukewarm solution of domestic washing up liquid and a clean sponge or lint free cloth. Ensure sponge or cloth is well wetted (but not dripping), dab the affected area and repeat as required. Avoid circular cleaning motion as this may polish up the surface. For textured walls, a cloth should be used rather than a sponge to avoid the formation of hard to remove bits due to sponge degradation.

Keep your home well ventilated during activities likely to contribute to oil and grease accumulation, such as cooking.

Tackle dust generated from DIY by containment, collecting at source or thorough vacuum cleaning.

To prevent marking, always use a soft brush attachment to vacuum clean adjacent surfaces.

Repair: Apply a thinned down primer coat to any bare porous surface. Repaint wall section “break to break” for best results. In most cases, spot repairs will remain visible and produce an aesthetically unacceptable result.

Ensure radiators are at room temperature before attempting to clean using the procedure above. Cleaning hot radiators may result in localised or uneven polishing of the surface and should be avoided wherever possible.

Repair: Lightly rub down area to be repainted and apply a suitable primer to any exposed substrate. Repaint item “break to break” with one or two coats as required. Stand alone items, such as window frames and doors, may require the whole item to be repainted to avoid slight colour differences between the existing finish and adjoining repair areas. In most cases, spot repairs will remain visible and produce an aesthetically unacceptable result.
